Hit the ground running with IOSH – RoSPA Workplace Safety Blog

At some point or other we’ve all heard the phrase ’hit the ground running’. For most of us however, the dream of being instantly successful at a new activity is just that: a dream. It’s hardly surprising. Imagine getting behind the wheel of a car having never driven before. Or strapping on a set of skis before hurling yourself down the Alps. The results would not be pretty. That’s because the secret to hitting the ground running usually involves hours of hard work and dedication in order to make your exertions look effortless later on.

In many ways the same applies to your career in safety. Only by putting in the time and effort will you be able to arm yourself with the skills you need to succeed in the long run. That’s where IOSH comes in….

Not only is IOSH the only chartered body for health and safety professionals, but over 179,000 people take IOSH courses every year.
