All the new models in the PANDA SAFETY safety and occupational footwear range are developed to fully satisfy the protection requirements of a specific sector. In the previous edition of our monthly newsletter, we presented the first three models of the new “ASSEMBLY” line, a range of products specially designed to ensure full protection and maximum comfort to assembly line operators. Our April 2020 newsletter introduces three other models from the same line equipped with the ESD functionality i.e. the ability to dissipate accumulation of electrostatic charges thanks to the combined action of the sole and internal insole which is also provided with an anti-bacterial and anti-microbial treatment.
The new models “SELMA MF ESD”, “SIRIA MF ESD” and “SVEVA MF ESD” have been designed exclusively for indoor use, offering total freedom of movement and all-round protection. In addition to eliminating the risk of the most common workplace accidents, thanks to the safety toecap, the anti-puncture plate and the anti-slip and anti-torsion features of the sole, they protect both the users and the working environment from electrostatic discharges; the acronym ESD stands for Electro Static Discharge and refers to the small discharge caused by the transfer of static electricity from one object to another, which can often occur when two different materials rub against each other. As they are fully metal-free, these shoes are also suitable for the workers of the so-called “controlled environments” such as airports.
SELMA: ESD sandal with highly breathable and abrasion-resistant inner lining which is also provided with an antimicrobial and antibacterial treatment that prevents any risk of contamination; the uppers stand out for the color contrast between bright yellow and matt grey, while the Velcro strap makes it easy to put the sandal on and ensures the best fit by adhering and adapting perfectly to the user’s instep.
SIRIA: The sole on this laced shoe is made of high-density ESD polyurethane tread and ESD polyurethane foam midsole to ensure robustness, maximum resistance to wear, flexibility and comfort. It is an extremely lightweight shoe and, thanks to the suede upper – suitably perforated at the front to increase the flow of recycled air – and the ultra-breathable MESH lining, it gives the users a pleasant sensation of freshness throughout the whole working shift.
SVEVA: High lace-up footwear capable of dispersing electrostatic charges. The sole is fitted with a shock-absorbing insert in the heel area and support for the plantar arch as well as all the basic requirements of the European standard EN ISO 20345:2011. User comfort is an essential factor so the collar and tongue have anatomical padding that envelops the foot, thus keeping it in the most correct position.
