Features includes
Blind Spot Detection
- Warns the driver that a pedestrian, cyclist or motorcyclist has been detected in the vehicle’s blind spot. A yellow signal is given if the driver needs to use caution, a red signal is given if there is risk of an imminent collision and of the need to take immediate preventative action.
Daylight/Nightlight Pedestrian Collision Warning, including Bicycle Detection
- Mobileye distinguishes vulnerable road users and will issue both a visual and audible alert of an imminent collision with a pedestrian or cyclist up to 2 seconds ahead. Note: PCW is not active at speeds greater than 50km/h
Forward Collision Warning
- Mobileye calculates the relative distance to the vehicle or motorcycle ahead and will issue both a visual and audible warning of an impending collision. Up to 2.7 seconds ahead.
Lane Departure Warning
- Mobileye will warn the driver with a visual and audible alert if the vehicle’s wheels unintentionally cross the lane or shoulder lines without the use of a turn signal.
(HMW) Headway Monitoring & Tailgating Warning
- Gives the driver constant real-time indication of the distance to the vehicle or motorcycle ahead and will issue a tailgating alert if the distance becomes too close.
(SLI) Speed Limit Indication
- Mobileye reads posted, temporary and electronic speed signs and can alert the driver when exceeding the posted limit
System Components
- External cameras constantly scan the blind spots on sides of the vehicle and behind the A-pillar.
- The forward-facing camera unit containing the camera, EyeQ® chip, and speaker, mounted on the inside of the windshield behind the rearview mirror.
- The pedestrian and cyclist blind spot warnings are displayed on two LCD displays, one placed on the right side of the windshield and the other on the left.
- The EyeWatch™ visual display unit mounts inside the vehicle, providing real-time alerts in the key seconds before collisions occur.
Unlike other collision detection systems, our smart solution uses award-winning image recognition software to reduce unnecessary warnings, which can desensitise drivers over time; Mobileye Shield +™ only alerts drivers if a collision is imminent with vulnerable road users, not inanimate objects.
In addition, this solution includes a full telematics system which tracks the vehicle and reports all warnings made by the Mobileye System to your fleet management system, providing fleet managers with valuable information about their drivers’ daily driving behaviours.
