Maintenance Engineer Succumbed to his Injuries After Falling from Aircraft Door

An aircraft engineer had slipped from the door of the aircraft on the 22nd December 2019, resulting in major injuries. The worker is hospitalized and undergoing the necessary treatment as of 3rd January 2020. Thorough investigation is being initiated by the Ministry of Manpower.

This accident had encouraged workplaces to avoid any potential risk by shielding all workers when they are working from height. A regular inspection based on the risk assessment must be carried out to ensure the coverage of safe access to and when exiting from the assigned work region of the aircraft.

The assessments includes risk controls that incorporates the supply of a legitimate platform, sufficient light in the work environment, and a legal permit, to confirm that conditions are protected for work to continue.
