Being safe on the worksite is all about thinking and paying attention to what you are doing. Looking out for one another is how we all can get home safely at the end of the day.
At Alfa Tech, we take the prevention of work-related injury and ill health to our employees, contractors, and partners as part of our commitment to respect for human life. Our management system objectives are established with both lagging and proactive leading indicators with the overall goal of zero injuries and illness.
Each leader and employee will be empowered through adequate training to recognize and take appropriate action to eliminate hazards and reduce risks in our workplace.
With this in mind, we held a joint MEWP Safety Awareness Campaign with the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) and MSA – The Safety Company in June 2021. The event was held at one of our project sites and Alfa Tech Singapore was also honoured to partner with International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) to soft launch their first MEWP Operator Refresher Course.
During the course, there was a 2-hour theory class and a specially customized Virtual Reality (VR) simulator that was used to refresh and assess the operator’s hands-on competency.

assessment
Each participant had about 15-minutes to complete the practical assessment. At the end of the session, those who passed the written and practical assessments were then issued with a sticker that shows their proficiency now.
At the end of the event, we also had the honour to invite our Alfa Tech Management Team, Mr Zach Wilson (Managing Director) and Mr Jensen Leong (Director of Projects and I.T), Mr Alex Chong (Alfa Tech Senior Project Manager) and Client Representative, Mr Greg Nimerick to give out the prizes and stickers to the participants of this events.

As the saying goes:’ The years of license does not equate to the years of experience”, hence at Alfa Tech, we believed in constantly upgrading our people, so that they are always ready and equipped with the updated skills set to keep them safe at job.
Thank you International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) for conducting the soft launch of their Refresher Course with us and MSA – The Safety Company for sponsoring the event and educating us on the safe use of harness at worksite.
