About The Role

Work Location: Oman – Sohar

Reporting to: HSE Manager

Key responsibilities
Assist in the coaching, mentoring and implementation of the HSE programmers in the factory
Work with all employees, contractors, and visitors to ensure that all safety policies, procedures and regulations are fully adhered to across the site on an ongoing basis
Liaise and communicate with Global HSE function to ensure corporate policies and initiatives are implemented and repot relevant metrics
Ensure that all incidents are reported immediately, and incident corrective actions are followed up on and completed
Participate and assist the managers and supervisors in the investigation of incidents to determine root cause, and corrective actions where necessary
Support and maintain effective document control systems for the HSE Department
Manage, develop, and provide HSE training as required
Provide advice, guidance and instruction in all Environment & safety and occupational health matters to management, safety representatives and employees (and include contractors where appropriate)
Conduct regular inspections and safety audits, report findings to site HSE Manager and provide strict follow-up to ensure identified actions are attended immediately
Ensure safety boards with postings including but not limited to: Health & Safety policy, inspection and audit results, project hazard assessment, location of first aid, etc. are maintained and current.
Assist in developing H&S plans that comply with company policies and procedures and develop the company induction documentation with delivery of the health and safety induction lesson for new employees and visitors
Promote a culture of safety first, promote being healthy, incident and injury free

Qualifications And Skills
Minimum Diploma in Engineering, Environmental, Health & Safety, Chemistry or equivalent (degree preferred)
IOSH , OSHA Qualification
NEBOSH Qualification ( Preferred)
Minimum 2 years’ experience in the area of HSE in a multinational manufacturing environment .
In-depth knowledge of the Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Protection Laws & Regulations, preferably with knowledge in ISO 45001 or ISO 14001
Experienced with compliance audits and safety management systems Key competencies
An excellent English Language communicator (both oral and written) capable of conveying ideas and concepts, and making formal presentations
