Dr. Tessa Bailey
Dr Tessa is a registered psychologist and one of Australia’s leading experts in psychosocial risk management and workplace mental health. She is the Chief Executive Officer and Principal Psychologist at The Opus Centre for Psychosocial Risk, and Chair of the Global Psychosocial Safety Network (GPSN), a not‑for‑profit international network advancing evidence‑based practice and global leadership in psychosocial safety.
Dr Tessa completed her PhD at the University of South Australia, focusing on Psychosocial Safety Climate (PSC) and the use of leading indicators to predict and prevent psychological harm at work. Her doctoral research was recognised with the 2019 Ian Davey Award for the most outstanding PhD thesis.
Through her applied practice, Dr Tessa supports boards, executives, HR, and WHS professionals to move beyond surface‑level wellbeing initiatives toward best practice management aligned with Australian and international WHS expectations. She is a published researcher, sought‑after speaker, and trusted advisor to government, industry, and professional bodies, recognised for translating complex research into practical, legally defensible workplace solutions.
