Ir. Prof. Vincent Ho

Professor Vincent Ho has built a distinguished 40-year career advancing safety and risk management across transportation, defence, nuclear, and energy sectors. Internationally recognised for expertise in risk management, fire risk analysis, system safety, and OSH, he made history as the first International President of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), the world’s leading professional body for health and safety practitioners. His election set a groundbreaking precedent as the first Asia-based leader of this prestigious organisation.

He currently serves as Secretary General of the Asia Pacific Occupational Safety and Health Organisation (APOSHO), the foremost multinational alliance in OSH. APOSHO unites more than 40 OSH councils, institutes, and associations across the Asia Pacific and beyond, providing a collective voice to advance workplace safety, health, and sustainability.

Professor Ho also chairs the North East Asia Region of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and the Nuclear Division of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers. His leadership across these diverse fields underscores his pivotal role in engineering and safety.

He holds BS, MS, PhD, and MBA degrees from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). As a teaching professor at leading universities, including the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the University of Hong Kong, and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, he continues to shape future leaders.
