As a Well-being Champion and Suicide Prevention Officer, he promoted mental health awareness within WSH practices, adopting a holistic approach to safety. He reinforced contractor safety standards by implementing the 5E Principles: Educate, Engage, Encourage, Empower, and Enforce, fostering accountability throughout the value chain.

In 2025, Suherwan Jasmani implemented strategic Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) initiatives at Excel Precast Pte Ltd and Excel Precast Sdn Bhd, enhancing their internal safety culture and meeting external stakeholder standards. He integrated climate change considerations into their QESH management systems and embedded environmental risk evaluation into operational controls in line with ISO standards, boosting organisational resilience.

He strengthened hazard identification and risk management through refresher programmes and reinforced leadership accountability. He operationalised the 5E Principles—Educate, Engage, Encourage, Empower, and Enforce: across Excel Precast and extended these to contractors and suppliers, fostering shared responsibility.

As Well-being Champion and Suicide Prevention Officer, He also integrated psychosocial risk awareness into WSH practices, promoting a holistic safety approach and contributing to improved workforce participation and a proactive safety culture.

Suherwan Jasmani believe that safety culture transformation begins with trust, and he make it a priority to be approachable, honest, and easy to talk to at all levels of the organisation. By actively listening to concerns on the ground and responding transparently, he gained employees’ confidence and encouraged open reporting of hazards and near misses. This trust enabled smoother adoption of enhanced risk management practices, climate-related controls, and psychosocial safety initiatives.

Rather than enforcing change through authority alone, he influence through engagement, explaining the “why” behind each initiative and connecting safety to personal responsibility and care for one another. In his work, he stay approachable, listen to employees’ concerns, and provide transparent guidance. He build trust by following through on commitments and coaching teams on safety ownership.

By applying the 5E Principles, he creates a collaborative environment with both internal staff and external stakeholders, integrating mental health awareness into safety discussions.
