Outline the Workplace Safety and Health initiatives that have been implemented by you in your workplace in 2024.
In 2024, a series of targeted training and safety initiatives were implemented to enhance chemical transport safety and ensure strict regulatory compliance. Drivers received comprehensive training on vehicle immobiliser systems, emphasising the importance of lockout mechanisms in preventing operation under unsafe conditions. This training highlighted the critical role of safety interlocks, particularly in the transport of hazardous goods. Practical, hands-on sessions were conducted to introduce drivers to the use of In-Vehicle Monitoring Systems (IVMS). These sessions promoted safe driving practices, such as reducing harsh braking and speeding, while also familiarising drivers with real-time tracking capabilities and geofencing alerts to improve route adherence and situational awareness.
To complement traditional on-site safety training, an innovative e-learning Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) programme was developed. This programme incorporated interactive modules and quizzes, offering dynamic and engaging learning experience for the workforce.
These strategic measures have substantially improved operational safety standards, ensuring adherence to the regulations set by MOM, SCDF, SPF, and NEA. They have also fostered a proactive safety culture within his organisation.
