Muhammad Ali Minhas has done various safety campaigns like heat stress and done industrial chatters to showcase impact of ignoring site rules and regulations. He has trained the workers in various fields such as work at height, firing fighting, first aid, hazard identification, etc. He has achieved ISO 45001 Lead Auditor certificate which contributed in delivering his part more efficiently and reducing hazards on site using PDCA cycle.

Muhammad Ali Minhas has transferred the work permit system to an online system and provided a QR code everywhere onsite, which once scanned will show all the permits up to date. They also provided training sessions for employees and staff member and done many fire and medical emergency drills.

It took some time for Muhammad Ali Minhas to prepare and change the mindset of management to do some changes and he received the support of his manager in this regard which lead to the successful implementation of these initiatives.

The most difficult part for Muhammad Ali Minhas is to change the safety culture of employees which obviously took a long time to achieve. His initiative improves the working quality of workers, most of the employees are drivers who shows resistance to traffic rules but after 18 months of training and tool box talks, the performance has improved as everyone started to follow the rules as a normal routine. It has also impacted the management. Old and less effective methods were changed and we have to update our documents like policy, risk assessment, scheduling audits, and so on.

Muhammad Ali Minhas believes consistency is a very important attribute of safety influencer in order to promote safety behaviour, culture, and mindset of employees. He has worked on his communication and with consistency tried to change the safety culture by training, scheduling for industrial chatters, and starting campaigns.
