In 2023, Yaya spearheaded several significant safety and health initiatives, including the implementation of comprehensive risk assessment procedures, the development of targeted safety training programmes, and the enhancement of emergency response protocols. Her efforts resulted in a notable reduction in workplace accidents and injuries, earning her recognition for her proactive approach to safety management. She also chaired the Industry Panel for the Malaysia Safety Rating Program (MyKURIER) for Courier Services - Development Phase in Malaysia.

Throughout 2023, Yaya implemented various workplace safety and health initiatives aimed at fostering a culture of safety, such as the HSE Flagship Warehouse, Fleet Safety Initiatives, ESG Initiatives, and HSE Scorecard Initiatives across all Ninja Van Malaysia Central Warehouses, as well as Regional Sort (10 locations). These initiatives included regular safety audits, the introduction of ergonomic improvements, and the establishment of safety committees to promptly address specific safety concerns.

Yaya's influencing capability played a crucial role in the successful implementation of these initiatives. Through effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders at all levels, she garnered support and buy-in for safety measures, ensuring their seamless integration into daily operations. Several Environment, Social, and Governance initiatives were rolled out, such as a CSR program with Zoo Negara and two research project collaborations with UMPSA researchers on the physical and psychosocial well-being of employees.

Yaya's initiatives went above and beyond, significantly improving safety and health management performance in the workplace. By empowering employees to take ownership of safety, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and leveraging data-driven insights, she elevated safety standards to new heights, setting a benchmark for the industry. She also certified one of the main Ninja Van Central Warehouses for ISO 45001:2018 under the scope of warehousing activities and chaired the Industry Panel for the Malaysia Safety Rating Program (MyKURIER) for Courier Services - Development Phase in Malaysia.
