List the Safety and Health achievements/contributions you have achieved in 2023.
In 2023, our team accomplished an exceptional milestone by achieving the Best Total Recordable Incidents Rate (0.22) among Kerry Global groups, surpassing industry benchmarks (0.35). This feat was made possible by significant advancements in EHS initiatives in the Asia Pacific Middle East Africa (APMEA) region under my leadership, resulting in an impressive 80% reduction in Total Recordable Incidents compared to previous years. A pivotal factor contributing to this success is the successful implementation of the Behavior Observation System (BOS) at Kerry. Derived from the widely acknowledged Behavior Based Safety (BBS) framework, the BOS system concentrates on observing employees during task execution to encourage safe behaviours and discourage unsafe practices. Through the utilization of QR Code and CCTV monitoring, our objective is to cultivate a safety-conscious culture within our workforce. Additionally, notable achievements include three sites surpassing 1500 TRI-free days last year, underscoring our steadfast commitment to upholding the highest safety standards across all operations.

The LIFE Saving Rules system establishes essential guidelines for EHS compliance, covering critical areas such as My Safety, Our Safety, Falls from Height, Vehicle/Mobile Equipment, Confined Space Entry, Control of Hazardous Energies, Permit to Work, and Hazardous Substance & Control of Explosive Atmospheres. In tandem with this, a Behaviour Observation System (BOS) rooted in Behaviour Based Safety (BBS) methodology fosters behavioural changes among employees through the observation of daily safe practices. Leading by example is underscored, with a QR code application enabling the reporting of exemplary behaviours or safety violations. Moreover, the Safety Performance Index (SPI) functions as a reporting tool within the organization, computing the ratio of reactive incidents to proactive measures taken to identify and mitigate hazards. Integrated into the ProSafe initiative, this proactive approach has resulted in a substantial decrease in Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) annually. The SPI reporting mechanism is further streamlined through integration with the INTELEX system for standardized reporting and data transparency. Finally, an innovative Artificial Intelligence (AI) project has been deployed to enhance EHS compliance monitoring. This system utilizes notification CCTV cameras to capture and alert EHS leaders of any unsafe practices or violations of EHS regulations on site.
