With over seven years of dedicated experience, I have become a proficient safety practitioner adept at maintaining robust EHS Management Systems in accordance with RBA VAP 8.01 (Sections B and C), ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, and SS 651:2019. My expertise encompasses the design and implementation of EHS programs using the ADDIE model and PDCA cycle, ensuring sustainability and continual improvement. In 2023, I made significant strides in advancing Safety and Health through notable achievements and contributions. I presented at the Ergonomics & Hygiene Conference 2023 organized by IEH, delivering insights into understanding wellbeing within the workplace—an essential aspect of promoting overall health and productivity. Additionally, I was honoured with an invitation to present at an international symposium in South Korea, where I shared expertise on ergonomics assessment as a proactive measure for mitigating Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) risks and optimising production costs in the electronic industry.
Furthermore, I attained the prestigious Board Certified Safety Professional (BCSP) certification, demonstrating a high level of competence and commitment to Safety and Health management practices. These achievements highlight my dedication to continuous professional development and the dissemination of industry-leading practices and insights. By actively engaging in conferences and symposiums and obtaining advanced certifications, I have strengthened my capacity to drive impactful Safety and Health initiatives both locally and globally in 2023.


Outline the Workplace Safety and Health initiatives that have been implemented by you in your workplace in 2023.


In 2023, I spearheaded several Workplace Safety and Health initiatives that significantly enhanced our operational efficiency and safety standards. One key initiative was the EHS Management of Change (MOC), where we optimized workflow processes to bolster the sustainability and effectiveness of our EHS programs. By integrating workflows across multiple EHS programs and establishing common "gating" points, we adopted the M.A.P.L.E concept, systematically addressing Material, Activity, Process, Location, and Equipment Risks within our organization.
Additionally, we implemented innovative solutions, such as enabling the upper primitive of Equipment Testers globally through raised work platforms. This resulted in a remarkable 20-33% increase in production capacity and substantial cost avoidance of US$5 million. Noise exposure monitoring and control measures were also implemented, reducing noise levels by 5 decibels in identified high-risk areas on the production floor.
Further, we prioritized worker safety by evaluating and expanding site-wide coverage of AED and First Aid boxes based on hazard assessments and injury severity records. We integrated worker care into our light-duty management workflow, collaborating with HR and Wellbeing Advocate teams to enhance incident reporting and investigation processes. Lagging indicator metric analysis was also conducted, leveraging medical injury data to identify new potential hazards and strengthen hazard communication and risk mitigation plans.

My influencing capability has played a pivotal role in the successful implementation of key EHS initiatives by emphasising clear communication, problem understanding, and collaboration. By "talking what matters," I prioritise conveying relevant expertise and solutions, bridging potential gaps in understanding and fostering alignment towards safety goals. I delve into problem statements, understanding the task's intent, and evaluating its safety feasibility and restrictions, aligning efforts with the necessary hierarchy of controls to bring the risks to ALARP.
Collaboration is central to my approach, recognising the expertise of end-users in their tasks while providing EHS guidance and setting clear expectations aligned with workplace requirements and legislation. By engaging in open dialogue and consultation, I facilitate informed decision-making and mutual understanding of safety needs and constraints.
My ability to deliver assessments and consultations with practical guidance ensures that workers receive actionable advice to perform tasks safely and in compliance with regulatory standards. This hands-on approach not only builds trust but also reinforces a safety-conscious culture where EHS considerations are integrated seamlessly into operational workflows. This blend of communication, collaboration, and practical delivery exemplifies my influential impact on successful EHS initiatives within my workplace and community.

The initiatives implemented in my workplace have had a profound impact on Safety and Health management, exceeding standard practices and significantly enhancing overall performance. By establishing a comprehensive incident reporting and investigation procedure, we have fostered a culture of responsibility and accountability among stakeholders, ensuring thorough investigations and effective Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) implementation. This systematic approach has not only improved incident resolution but has also elevated communication channels with top management and worker consultations, enhancing transparency and trust within the organization.
Moreover, our innovative solutions, such as enabling global equipment testers through raised work platforms, have led to a substantial increase in production capacity, demonstrating tangible cost avoidance of US$5 million. Concurrently, our focus on noise exposure monitoring and control measures has mitigated risks in high-noise areas, reducing noise levels by 5 decibels and safeguarding employee health.
The expansion of AED and First Aid box coverage based on rigorous hazard assessments and injury severity records reflects our commitment to worker safety. Integrating worker care into our incident reporting and investigation processes through collaboration with HR and Wellbeing Advocate teams has further strengthened our safety framework. I have demonstrated these attributes daily in my role by leading safety initiatives, inspiring and empowering colleagues through clear and open communication about safety protocols and goals. My passion for safety is evident in my proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential risks, fostering a culture of safety awareness and accountability.
I have consistently strived for continuous improvement by implementing innovative safety programs, such as EHS Management of Change (MOC) and noise exposure monitoring, which have positively impacted our workplace's safety culture and performance.
