Initiative Description
Engineering control has been implemented to eliminate major incidents mainly related to hand injury and leg injury. Site has major incidents related to hand injury whereby pen knife usage caused deep laceration with 13 stitches and minor laceration as well. This kind of incidents totally has been eliminated by introducing de-gating jig. Site also had major incidents related to MHE due to unauthorised MHE handlers. Therefore, MHE units key system replaced with biometric system whereby authorised MHE handlers thumb register to the biometric system and only with registered thumb can on the MHE units.
